Day Hikes & Short Breaks
Waterfall into mountain pool
As well as formal group holidays, we take people out into the hills most days. As a visitor to South Africa you will be astonished by the number and extent of the country’s mountain ranges. More surprising still to the European visitor is the difficulty there is to gaining access to these mountains.
Outside of the little publicised and little known (huge) network of hiking trails few people know the mountains and fewer still actively walk and climb in them. Mountain Club South Africa is an extremely active organisation, but its membership, across the country, is relatively few and it (quite rightly) exists for the benefit of its members. It has only limited interaction with the Tourist Industry.
Cape Hiking came into being to bridge this gap, to help foreign visitors gain access to our mountains and to enjoy and appreciate them.
